A Coke and a Smile
Imagine never having seen the ocean but walking into the Georgia Aquarium to see a whale, sea lions, penguins, dolphins, and sharks...
...Or leaving your neighborhood and city for the first time to travel via bus to explore and taste The World of Coca-Cola (in vanilla, lime, or cherry from Africa, Italy, and Japan) on a field trip.
We all remember middle school: puberty, socially awkward days, early bloomers and bullies, academic stress...
"WHO HAS A DREAM?"...every middle schooler after visiting The King Center and Emory University in Atlanta.
"The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of convenience and comfort, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy."
Middle Schoolers who go on field trips are proven to perform better in class and on standardized tests, have fewer absences and behavior infractions, and are more likely to graduate from high school. Most importantly, spending time with peers outside the classroom in an educational environment decreases anxiety, depression, and suicidal ideation...ie Jane's Fund believes every student should be given the opportunity to learn by exploring the world...
...Sharing a coke, a bus ride, and a hotel room is our dream for every middle school student in CMS...and Jane's Fund needs your help to make it happen.
