Miracles of Life in Death
Simple life moments many of us take for granted often become life-changing for families watching brave kids fight terminal pediatric cancer. Nothing can ever justify or erase the pain of losing a child, but along these grueling journeys, small seeds of hope are planted. Those moments — those miracles — help us all keep living our best lives.
A gripping hug to her big sister, sober for 90 days, said everything without words: “You can remain sober when I’m gone. I’ll help you from Heaven.”
Today, Jane’s Fund is helping cover everyday expenses for several families:
Danny, age 4 — finishing chemotherapy as he prepares for a bone marrow transplant.
Juliet, age 16 — smiling though she can no longer walk or speak due to brain metastases.
Malachi, age 13 — refusing to quit the fight against bone cancer that has spread throughout his body.
Each of these families carries their own stories of resilience and miracles — stories that give them strength to keep moving forward.
This week, as we remember Jane’s birthday, we celebrate the life she lived and her heroic fight with DIPG. We are grateful for the miracles that continue to wake us each morning and remind us to keep going:
Cam — adopted by David and Molly after Jane’s death, a decision made shortly after her celebration of life service.
Penelope Jane — daughter of Jane’s role model and #1 babysitter, born as Jane went to Heaven, just one floor up in the very same hospital. This week, she starts first grade.
To all the brave kids battling cancer: thank you. Your courage, truth, and love create miracles that inspire us to live simpler, fuller, more meaningful lives.
