Consider a gift that represents teamwork and sportsmanship for youth in our community

  • learning to swim

West Boulevard Ministries serves the physical and emotional needs of families living in the West Boulevard corridor.

In the summer of 2023, when they approached Jane’s Fund with the idea of building a neighborhood pool to teach children living in the surrounding areas to swim, we jumped at the chance to provide that critical opportunity.

Jane's Fund sponsored the pool, from decking to tile and everything in between. West Blvd Ministries has been hard at work insuring the benefits of the facility will be plenty. Several swim academies have already signed on to provide lessons and lifeguards, helping give children the gift of safety and confidence.

We can't wait to hear the stories that will come out of this critical community resource. Thank you for helping make a SPLASH in West Charlotte.

    • Build a brand new pool in west Charlotte: $80,000

  • Play Like Jane Lacrosse Camps

  • Help Lions Roar

The West Charlotte Lions Varsity Football Team cannot safely reach their goal of winning a State Championship without updated safety helmets to decrease each player’s concussion risk. Help improve student safety as they express their talents through sport’s competition, gaining confidence to overcome hardship.

    • New helmet and uniform for 1 player: $440

    • New helmets and uniforms for the O-line: $2,200

    • Upfit the entire football team #50: $22,000

  • Youth Basketball

Inspired by Lawrence and Sport Mode One, help bridge boys and girls from different sides of the city to train, compete, and play basketball. By teaming up on the court, biases will be broken, and teamwork will dominate as kids from different backgrounds solve problems together and form lifelong friendships. Fees below support scholarships for students from Title 1 schools to be a part of the program.

    • Two Camps in June: $5,250 per week

    • After School Camp: $3,750

    • Enrichment Camp: $2,500

    • Fund full program for 150 players: $16,750

Trying and excelling at a variety of sports taught Jane many lessons: how to lose and get back up again; how sports can tear down biases, create unity, build confidence, fight fear and encourage empathy with all kinds of people. Sports even helped Jane focus more intently on academics.

Kids who play sports are proven to be leaders, struggle less with mental illness, are more likely to graduate from high school and college, and have more confidence than their peers who are not involved in sports or other extracurricular activities.

  • Help Jane’s Fund give kids the opportunity to play sports to improve mental and physical health and decrease school drop-out rates.
