Turning Black and White into Color

Sketching, painting, strumming, singing… Who doesn’t need moments in their week to let their imagination run wild? Creative expression not only fuels joy—it builds confidence, fosters problem-solving, and enables our creative gifts.

Yet many of the under-resourced schools Jane’s Fund partners with don’t have access to music, art, or drama programs. Imagine school without the chance to join the orchestra, star in a play, or paint a self-portrait.

Jane’s Fund loves nothing more than watching students thrive when given the tools to create. This spring, your support has helped make moments like these possible:

  • Renaissance West Middle School’s band performed a spring concert titled “Soar Higher."

  • Pinewood Elementary students brought “A Pirate Musical” to life with future actors, singers, and dancers.

  • Sterling Elementary students are strumming and humming with joy on their new ukuleles.

  • Elementary schools transformed into pop-up art museums for a night as students showcased paintings, drawings, and sketches to their families.

  • Students are building home libraries, decorating their bookshelves with stickers and markers, and stocking them with new books to read over spring and summer breaks.

Students involved in music and arts experience lower dropout rates, better mental health, and stronger academic engagement. Jane’s Fund has been busy this spring supplying art supplies, instruments, costumes, and books, but our work has just begun.

Please help Jane’s Fund keep the creativity flowing:
Art supplies to light up the night: $500
Costumes for the school musical: $300
Musical instruments to launch a school band: $70,000
