Two Peas in a Pod

Today's Miracle Monday is for a very special little boy named Alex - and his very best friend, his sister Hayden.

Four-year-old Alex loves being outside, fishing with his dad, pulling playful pranks on his family, and sharing adventures with his dog, Stella. But, his very favorite place to be is right beside his big sister, Hayden.

Their mom describes them as “two peas in a pod,” and anyone who meets them can see why. Alex and Hayden share an unbreakable bond — the kind built on inside jokes, endless giggles, and those contagious belly laughs that light up a room. Their friendship is pure joy, and a gift to everyone who witnesses it.

On September 26, 2025, their world changed forever when Alex was diagnosed with diffuse midline glioma, a devastating childhood cancer with a poor prognosis. Since then, Alex has bravely completed radiation and now faces monthly scans as his family holds tightly to every moment and every miracle.

Through it all, Hayden has remained right by Alex's side as his biggest cheerleader and his best friend.

A terminal pediatric cancer diagnosis brings unimaginable heartbreak, along with overwhelming financial strain. Jane’s Fund is honored to lift a financial burden by paying Alex’s family’s mortgage for an entire year — so they can focus on what matters most: loving Alex and being present for every precious moment together...especially the ones between Alex and Hayden.

After hearing the surprise from Jane's Fund,  Alex’s mom emailed to say: “Still overwhelmed by our visit today but overwhelmed in the best way possible thank you from our hearts.”

Lucas family, thank you for trusting us with your story.

Because of supporters like you, Jane’s Fund is able to show up when families need it most. Thank you for being part of these miracles.
